Band in a Day Saturday 8th of March

Everyone wants to be in a band, right? All that glory, all that adulation all that MONEY! Private jets, oceans of fans... who wouldn't want to be in a band?! 

The actual doing of it though... that can be tricky. Real tricky. You have to find yourself people to jam with. Then somewhere to rehearse, Then you have to pick the songs. Think about what you're going to look like... work out who's going to take the photos. All before you've even dealt with the drummer. 

Thankfully... The Guitar Social... 

This is one of our most exciting offerings.  Across a fun Saturday, you'll be working with The Guitar Social team to put together three songs, alongside our in house session musicians, in preparation for a live performance in front of your mates, your mum and your mum's mates, on The Guitar Social stage. 

There's the option to have yourself photographed in various stages of your rock and roll evolution as well as being videoed, which we will then turn into a  music video, charting you from rehearsal to your stage emergence, complete with:  smoke machines, flashing lights, confetti canon and all. 

How is this possible? 

This day session is delivered by the founder of The Guitar Social, Thomas Binns. Thomas has spent the last ten years teaching large groups of people how to play songs quickly.  He did this to over 200 people when he set the world record for the worlds longest guitar class and his teaching methods have featured on the BBC and have been approved by brands such as Spotify and artists like Stevie Wonder. 

He is backed up by an incredible team made up of session musicians that are a joy to work with and will guide you gently to your moment on stage. 

The Guitar Social operates out of a building built for live performance with tens and tens and tens of thousands of pounds of lighting, audio, filming and stage gear all at your disposal. 

Of course, it isn't possible without your attendance so the next thing to do is to sign up. 

How it works 

We'll do a mini assessment on where you are with your playing before the day and match you up with players of a similar level BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME AND ACTIVLEY ENCOURAGED. THIS INCLUDES PEOPLE THAT HAVEN'T PLAYED BEFORE.

We will then discuss your song choices, and across four hours of workshops and rehearsals you'll get your songs together. 

You're then sent to the band lab to work with the Guitar Social in house band, adding drums, bass and piano to your jam. 

Finally, its stage time. This is your moment of glory. The Guitar Social has pulled out all of the stops to invite people from our own netrworks, while you have been busy inviting your mates and colleagues

If you have opted in for recordings and photographs, footage is collected, edited and delivered to you the following week..
