Whether you're drawn to the storytelling of folk music, the rhythmic drive of traditional strumming, or the intricate beauty of fingerpicking, this course will take your playing to the next level.

You'll explore what folk music is, its key artists, and the techniques that define its sound. Every new concept is introduced through songs, ensuring that what you learn is immediately put into context..

What You'll Learn

• Strumming patterns for folk rhythms
• Fingerpicking techniques like Travis Picking and Melodic Picking
• Playing in open tunings for new sounds
• Folk-style chord progressions
• Beautiful folk intervals 

Electric or Acoustic?

Most players bring an acoustic guitar, but electrics are welcome too. If you’re bringing an electric, please bring your own amp and leads.

We know life gets busy. If you miss up to a third of the course, we’ll keep you on track with video and email support. Need to attend a different session on another date? Just let us know—we’re flexible.

• Eight sessions, each lasting 70-90 minutes
• A comprehensive course book filled with guidance and resources
