Hello traveller, let’s pack for New York, shall we?

We're off to the home Punk Rock, Disco, Hip-Hop, No Wave, Boogaloo, Jazz and many, many more. This special retreat, is all about defining those Genres, figuring out what part the Guitar has to play in each, and visiting key locations relevant to the Music we will be jamming every morning in our workshops.

How many people will be there?

We limit attendance to about 15. This is a far cry from a guitar retreat in a conference room in a hotel on the motorway. This is small scale, boutique, bespoke.

What we’ll do

This can change based on the local knowledge we pick up on the ground and your
suggestions. Sometimes, the day takes on its own mood, and we follow the breeze
wherever it blows us. However, the initial outlined, is listed below

Accommodation
We’ll be staying in a a place typical to warehouse living in the big apple. Think the kind of place where Andy Warhol would have held parties, only with high end fixtures, comfortable beds and a design heavy aesthetic.

Itinerary and workshops 

Currently in development. You may wish to look at our Portland retreat to get a sense of what this trip has to offer.  

The form is workshops in the morning, the day time is spent touring the city, checking into must see locations and areas of musical and historical interest. 

Evenings are spent watching live music. Of course. 

 

How the accommodation works

We only ever take the finest accommodation we can find. This involves big spaces in 
end houses and apartments. Rooms are shared and room shares are allocated
empathetically based on age, interests and gender. It is worth mentioning, the time spent in your room is likely to be very little.

Confirming the trip, refunds and flights 

If flying from London, the suggested flight for this trip is flight BA179 from Heathrow at 10am on the 13th of September, arriving at JFK 12.45. 

Getting to the accommodation

When the trip is confirmed, you’ll be provided with an address. Your job is to get to th
address, once there, your trip with The Guitar Social begins.

You can book in full up to six months before departure for a 5% discount on the price.
Otherwise, we require 20% with the remaining balance paid 6 months before departure.
