Why?

I recently bought an old copy of Q Magazine in a charity shop. The magazine is dated January 2002. The main feature that month was a list of the 50 most exciting songs ever. Bored and on a long train journey, I play listed those songs, you can listen here. I then went to the 400 or so people that we have on whatsapp groups and asked them to help me compile our own Guitar Social list of exciting songs. The playlist is in progress, and you can actually add to it.  This workshop, taking place in the Fox Pub, Shoreditch, will explore both lists. We will select our songs using the wooden block game Jenga because when I arrived at my destination I went to Argos and bought a game of Jenga, and started writing the names of the most exciting songs ever, on the Jenga blocks. Participants will withdraw a block, and whatever song is on that block is the song we will play. When the Jenga tower falls, we will play a song from the saddest ever, selected from a prize wheel (which I have also bought) I haven't made the saddest songs ever playlist yet, but mmm mmm mmm by the crash test dummies springs to mind. 

Playing level

Everyone is welcome from beginners upwards. This is a for fun workshop positioned on a Saturday afternoon in a great pub. All players will have a role to play in all songs
