Course Overview
This is a course for people that have never played guitar before and it is Thomas’ absolute favourite, writing this himself, in third person, to make himself seem more important.
I have delivered this to thousands of people, and most of them are still with The Guitar Social to this day. I LOVE this course. I'm sure you will too.
Where it takes place
25-27 Curtain Road, EC2A 3LT
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course you’ll be playing more than eight songs, you’ll be able to read tab, you’ll know all the chords you need to play many more songs and you’ll feel like a guitarist.
Our full outcomes are a bit of a secret. Like the KFC spice mix or whatever it was that was in the suitcase in pulp fiction, but here's an overview
Chords-C, Dm, Em, Am, F, G, Am, A, D, E, A7, D7, E7
Songs- the list changes term by term, but classics that we keep returning to include Ain't No Sunshine by Bill Withers, Prayer in C by Lilly Wood and the Prick, Free Fallin' by Tom Petty and Linger by The Cranberries along with loads more. You can also request your own songs suggestions.
Reading-Chord boxes, tabs and rhythms
Riffs and melodies- You'll be working towards playing iconic riffs like that riff from Fleetwood Mac's The Chain, Bob Marley's Redemption Song and lead lines to accompany the songs listed above.
Electric or acoustic?
You should always bring whatever you have the most playing. Electric players are expected to bring their own amps and leads. If you need help buying your first guitar, get in touch.
Can't make every session?
This is very common. If you miss up to a third of your program, we can keep you up to speed with video and email support. We are also flexible with our schedule. If you need to jump on another session on a different date, the answer is always yes.
